All you PWC commuters need to see this message from Supervisor Corey Stewart (R-Occoquan) re: new development on PW Parkway. Whomever has the slug email list PLEASE cut and paste this message and send it to everyone.
On Tuesday, October 26, 2004, the Board of County Supervisors will consider approval of a major residential and commercial development on the Prince William Parkway near the intersection with Old Bridge Road. The development, named Reid's Prospect, would add over 530 townhouses, multi-family units and small-lot single family homes along the north side of Prince William Parkway between Asdee Lane and Laurel Drive. The development would also include 450,000 sq. ft. of commercial space. The development will add thousands of vehicle trips per day to already congested Prince William Parkway and Old Bridge Road. The increased congestion will be in addition to the increased traffic that will be caused by KSI's Town Center development currently under construction nearby. Further information concerning the development can be found at http://www.pwcgov.org/docLibrary/PDF/002649.pdf. I strongly oppose this development. Although the impact of the development will be felt most by those of us who use Old Bridge Road and the Parkway in the Occoquan District, the development itself is within the Coles District. Neither the Coles District Supervisor nor the other members of the Board have indicated to me how they intend to vote on this development. Every member of the public will have an opportunity to speak for 3 minutes before the Board on this development at 7:30 p.m. on October 26, 2004 at the McCoart Building located on Prince William Parkway. Please show up on October 26, 2004 to let the Board hear your perspective of this development. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact my office at 703-792-4643.
