KNLNGUS is only inappropriate if it isn't dirty-LOL.

You guys are again ranting on this forum when the purpose of this forum is to inform other slugs/drivers about the "DO NOT RIDE LIST". If you want to rant and rave, start another forum (it's quite easy to do) and do your ranting there. The sole purpose of this one is to warn people about unsafe/unsanitary conditions. There is nothing wrong with posting as much information about an unsafe driver because that is the only way the other slugs will know who to steer clear of. KNLNGUS, you stated that if you have an unsafe or uncomfortable ride home that you make a mental note of it and don't ride with that person again. Don't you think that if someone is an unsafe driver that others should benefit from that knowledge, not just yourself? Had you known about that particular driver due to this forum, you maybe wouldn't have ridden with them in the first place? Don't forget that we are a team and we need to look out for one another and not just be selfish and only think about yourself!! Now let's move this conversation to another thread and stick to the "DO NOT RIDE LIST" (and yes, please include the plate numbers whenever possible).

I am suggesting starting a listing of those drivers. It would be up to each individual slug whether they want to chance the ride or not. And, what may be offensive to one slug might not be offensive to another. I, myself, can tolerate a free ride, so if these people made it onto my list, then they must be really, really BAD. Additionally, if you choose to add to the list, please put which lot they primarily pick up from.

2. Teal Corolla Lady -- 95ish Teal Toyota Corolla. Towel (it's brown so I can't tell if its clean or not) on the back seat. Stereo blaring in the back. Rear door behind the driver does not work at all. She has to let you out. Baby seat on the other side so the option of sitting on the other side is not there. [Rte. 610]

The problem with limiting the description to the characteristics of the car/driver comes back to the point I made in a previous post in another thread. Unless there is a very unique characteristic (grey door on black car) that makes a vehicle stand out, there are many cars that look similar, especially in the dark hours of the morning (black, dk. blue, dk. green all look black). Descriptions based on gender and race can encompass a large community. The only thing truly unique is the license plate number.

Face it, people are going to do things that bug us. Drivers are going to do things slugs don't like, and slugs are going to do things drivers don't like. If the problem is serious and dangerous, the community should be made aware so others might protect themselves. If folks decide they want to post nit-picky things, each of us can choose for ourselves whether it's important enough to pass on the ride/slug. IMO, if I can get more detailed info, I can make a better decision.

In the words of an old cartoon, "Now I know, and knowing is half the battle".

KNLNGUS,

Personally, I’m not sure where I stand on posting plates on the site. I know that I think it's a waste because who is going to memorize them?

As for the cost, I was referring to the total cost, not just financial. It's not just a simple as you state. Slugs at Horner: Fight for parking, walk and stand on line in the rain/snow, leave vehicle in an unsecured lot that has had multiple break-ins, and then conform to the driver’s likes and dislikes. And no, I don't mind because I enjoy the benefits of slugging. But, it AIN'T free. And yes, I also drive and know the negatives of that endeavor also.

Cheers,

Glacier

You made a good point: If a person's tag number is posted here, it's stays here.

KNLNGUS made an excellent point too: A slug should probably try to speak up when they are in an uncomfortable / bad situation. For example, if it's so hot that you are nauseated, pls tell the driver. (& if the situation is dangerous-definately speak up.)

Some of us may be uncomfortable saying something, but before branding someone with the proverbial "scarlet letter" (or allowing a dangerous situation to continue) speaking up is the way to go.
