Anybody remember the 140-car pileup in a flash snowstorm around 9 or 10 years ago? It was one of the worst rides home ever. The state police, in their Richmond-induced cluelessness, decided to reconstruct the accident (there was, sadly, at least one fatality) at around 3:00 PM a couple of days later - leading to another several hour delay during rush hour.
Today, the northbound laggards who drive by the USMC Museum at around 8:00 AM will be treated to an awe-inspiring display of the investigative might of the state police. Undaunted by the disruption to traffic that will surely result from a massive police presence on the highway and median, they will be out there to investigate the shooting of the museum that occured last weekend. Way to go!![:D][:o)][:0][:)] |

The police should get their priorities in order. Quite obviously they should not investigate the criminal shooting at the Marine Corps Museum if it might possibly impact traffic.

quote: Or perhaps they should investigate on Saturday so they don't cause a loss of millions of dollars of productivity investigating a case of vandalism, already nearly a week after it occurred. There is a difference between having common sense and not having it, although I understand that may be a difficult concept for some to grasp. |

quote: I don't remember hearing about that and I tried to get info online but could not find any reference to a major accident 10 years ago in Richmond. Do you by any chance have more info so I could google it? |

I believe this is the accident the OP was referring to. It happened in Stafford County, not in Richmond. "The state police, in their Richmond-induced cluelessness..." was referring to the state police not realizing how their actions would impact commuter traffic, not where the accident happened. Hope that clears it up a bit Slug! |
