Horner gets filled up before 7am. Will this new lot provide some relief to Horner?

Yes, I parked there this morning (July 12th). It is a closer and an easier walk from the new lot than from the one next to McDonalds. With the new lot you don't have to cross the streets of Harbor Drive and Minnieville.

Press says that PRTC bus currently serving the FBC parking lot will continue for now. However, as the least is terminated, commuters cannot park there, hence no slugging at FBC

I assume the busses will continue to pickup/discharge passengers in the original lot, and slugs will line up in the current locations? Are there plans to move the slug lines to the new lot?

First Baptist Church Commuter Lot Closes - Effective July 8th, the First Baptist Commuter Lot on Minnieville Road will close according to a press release from the Potomac Rappahannock Transportation Commission. Also, PRTC will discontinue its late evening shuttle bus service between the Horner Road Commuter Lot and the First Baptist Church. Click Here to read the press release

The good news is that Prince William County has a new lease for 222 parking spaces next to the existing Lake Ridge Commuter lot on Minnieville Road. This new commuter lot will we able to use the existing bus service already provided to the Lake Ridge Commuter lot. The new temporary lot will open on Monday, July 11th.

Prince William County also has a long-term solution to the parking shortage in the I-95 corridor. The county is currently designing a new 600+ space commuter parking lot on Telegraph Road, opposite Horner Road. The lot is expected to be complete in fall 2012.
