	Shame HOV Violators Into Driving Right

	I have an idea for reducing the number of solo drivers violating HOV lane rules:

		

	

	Put a bumper sticker, with a date, on the back of violators' cars. Make them keep it on the bumper for six months or risk more fines. Fear of being publicly identified as scofflaws might deter some people from breaking the law. A bumper sticker that says "HOV Violator August 2004" wouldn't look good next to one that brags, "My kid is an honor roll student."
