I received this email from a fellow slug regarding people who troll the commuter lots hoping to steal a slug on the way to the slug line.[:(!]

"Not really an interesting story, but something I noticed the week after the big blizzard. I was in line at the Potomac Mills lot waiting to pick up slugs. It was a very slow morning, probably due to people still staying home or driving in alone. I watched for 20 minutes as a black Nissan Altima (the new model and with dark tinted windows) was cruising up and down the parking lot. It was stop for a few minutes, then race off in another direction up the lot. A few seconds later it would come back down. Finally I saw the car drive up to some people that were walking towards the line of cars, and the Altima drove up and intercepted them. They got in and the car drove off.

This obviously enraged me. I had already been waiting at least 20 minutes, and there were still a number of cars in front of me, so how much longer had they been there? I would like to encourage people who are walking to a slug line, especially if they see a long line of cars, to not jump into the car of someone who is cruising the lot trying to cheat. Those are the same people that drive past a mile of traffic in a turn lane and cut in at the last minute. These same people are probably the same kids who used to cut in the lunch line in school. And it makes me angry that people like that exist, but they do. Hopefully if we don't accept rides from those kinds of people, at least we can eliminate one of the occasional frustrations of slugging."
