I'm going to start a new job on 20th and M. 8:00 P.M. - 5:30 P.M. I'm I going to be able to get a ride at 5:30P.M. and where can I get a ride?

I would suggest having a back-up plan if you are leaving that late. During the spring/summer the slug lines are very long and if you get there that late, you may not get a ride. I would have bus tickets bought ahead of time for a back-up

It will also depend on your afternoon destination. Some slug lines may still be really busy at 5:30 -- & others may have already dried up by then. Where are you trying to go at 5:30? [?]
