I heard rumor Dodge is coming out with a Hybrid version of its Cummins Turbo Diesel pickups. Anyone heard likewise?

I would really dig a dually with CF/CX plates.

That's a very cool truck. 2mpg more fuel efficiency isn't much of a selling point though.

It is hurricane season though and I really enjoyed having a generator after Isabelle did her deed.

Of course, they don't say whether it qualifies for the GWB tax credit either.

I get about 20 MPG in my diesel non-hybrid. To get 2 more MPG and have a generator, and get a hybrid exemption - that would rock.

Yep, all the better if using http://www.biodiesel.org/resources/biodiesel_basics/default.shtm

Of course, Consumer Reports gave the Dodge Ram a really bad all around rating.

I don't know about COnsumer Reports, even though I suscribe - I swear they are a Japanese owned company as the only cars they give a decent rating are Japanese. I currently have 90K, and other than fluid and filter changes, I had the fuel pump go out at 25K, and it was covered by Cummings' 100K engine warranty. A friend has 275K on his Dodge Diesel.

Now you've got me thinking this is not such a bad thing...biodiesel, Dodge Ram, with generator to power your house (and A/C)....hmmmm

NoSB,
Diesel is the way to go. Adolf Hitler made bio-diesel a reality in WWII. I'd convert my acre lawn to soybeans in a minute if I thought it would help break foreign dependance.

122582,

The BEST reason to convert your (or my) one acre lawn to soybeans is to feed the deer. Consider how our encroachment on their turf has reduced their habitat. If I planted my lawn in beans, I'd also have a great location for my archery hunting opps....now, I've got another home project to work on before hunting season begins....

Thanks for the idea!

Just saw an ad during the football game for a Chevy Silverado full-size pickup hybrid. Anybody got one? Cost starts at $30K. MPG?
