For those of us that come up from Dumfries to DC have you notice how loud the tires get over certain areas of the road? Here’s the deal. From the HOV lanes at the truck stop to just before the Horner road on/off ramp my tires sound like the road is shredding them. Then from Horner Road to the signage (about half a mile north of the Occoquan River) the road is smooth. Then the tire shredding begins again until you get to the mixing bowl.

I figure there are different contractors resurfacing the road but is this rougher road bed wearing my tires out quicker? Lord knows the noise in my car increases from it. Please let me know if you have witness this and if you think it’s something the politicians should be aware of. Thanks.
