Don't forget tomorrow is the first day to split the 14th St./ WNY- L'Enfant lines at Horner.

14th St Drivers use the same line while WNY/ L'Enfant drivers bear right.

I put up some very basic signs at the driver split, the spot where the WNY- L'Enfant slugs line up and a do not enter at the N end of the row.

Here's hoping it works OK.

The split line this morning did not work very well at 6:25 AM. Drivers were confused.

Splitting the line also limits alternatives for riders willing to walk from Independence to the Metro or to Walk to LEnfant or to take a ride down Independence from 14th street.

Splitting the line provides limited space for the L'Enfant/Navy Yard Line. The cars must drive around the lot most of the way anyway to get there. Splitting the line also makes it more congested for those cars trying to get into the lot from the North side and now having to do a U-turn inside the lot.

I recommend keeping the lines together and emphasize that the callers should call out the first three cars rather than standing on the curb if a Navy Yard car is waiting for a rider. Cars typically do not have to wait if they are going to L'Enfant.

Splitting the lines just adds more congestiion to an aready cramped area and limits options for riders willing to take rides to either 14 and Independence or L'Enfant.

After 3 days of trying the newly changed split for 14th / WNY & L'Enfant, I find that the change is a terrible, extremely unsafe, and is confusing.

This morning, the cars that needed to pick up WNY / L'Enfant folks were entering from the WNY / L'Enfant entrance and making an unsafe U-turn to turnaround not paying attention to individuals trying to walk towards the line behind the vehicles.

Before the change, majority of the cars that pick up passengers enter through where the new WNY / L'Enfant line is now located.

Personally and from speaking to other slugs, this new process was not thought out properly. In fact, we recommend the old process to return where it was safe, understandable, and less congestion.

Well I guess people will have to start LOOKING where they are walking/standing in line. And guess what drivers are going to start having to pay attention to road and what they are doing?!?! We can't have this your right! billchang2 im with you!

Who is the guy parked with the car flashing lights on in the morning preventing the lines to be split? Is he with the county?
When the lines were split it went faster for the driver and riders.
May not be the best location, but it's definitely a good idea to keep them separate.
