Today at about 4:30 sluggers were harassed by DC parking enforcement riding a Segue stating that we could not form our line there to be picked up and impede traffic blah blah blah. Wonder what brought this on? Will they take the same stand with commuter buses which line up and wait impeding traffic or cabs who stop for riders also impeding traffic.

Is this the line that is next to the Washington Monument?

Every year or two sluggers have to go through this dance with DC traffic enforcement and DC Department of Transportation DDOT. Everytime the traffic enforcement starts cracking down and sometimes ticketing cars. Complaints are made. Tickets are thrown out, and DDOT says something like "We support slugging". Last time this happened, the 14th street bus and slug lines for Woodbridge were moved.

If you are really concerned, contact DDOT.

At about 4:40 last night, traffic enforcement moved along cars waiting for slugs at 14th & Constitution line. He even stopped traffic in the second lane to let me out and make sure that I moved along (there were several cars parked ahead illegally in the curb lane). Second time in 2 weeks that I've seen traffic cops moving drivers along, but thankfully, no ticketing as of yet. Definitely discourages slugging at this location. We'll see what happens when more drivers and riders return next week after the holidays.
