NOSUV,
The exmption is not based on emisssion, environment, or efficiency. The exemption is based on the car manufacturer's association rattling the zippers of our general assembly. Did anyone else catch the fact the the exemption was passed unanimously? |

You know Luddite... you throw enough red herrings out there you become almost as credible as NOSUV...

The red herring comment didn't hurt (especially since you're a hybrid driver). Comparing me to NOSUV stung a bit. Since you're part of the problem in the HOV lanes because you drive a hybrid, your comments are only 1/3 as important as mine since I have three people in my car (which gets 29 mpg and burns 20% soybean oil) Put that in your pipe and smoke it. |

I have a 1994 and a 1995 Ford Escort. Each gets 44+ MPG. I can't go SOV environmental friendly along with the HYBRIDS. Why not?

My 2005 Mazda 6i doesn't have an annual emissions test requirement. Where's my CF plate?

scottt,
I can't find your exemption listed. By the way, I note that even though you claimed ealier this year that you had insufficient funds to purchase a hybrid, it seems you had enought to buy something other tnan a beater. Why do you care so little for the environment? ---- Now realizing that scottt can neither put up OR shut up |

Haven't seen the SLGFRE license plate, but saw an AOKHOV license plate on a hybrid - I wanted to gag. [:)]
Okay, seriously I understand the frustration with Hybrids on HOV, but they are not the only ones clogging up HOV - I don't hear any complaints about "law enforcement" personnel with DC, MD and VA license plates driving in HOV with 1 person, okay the reason behind that? Far as I can tell...NONE. Unless they are in pursuit of an HOV violator or speeder, there really is no reason they need to be on there, and don't tell me it is because of "Homeland Security." How about government vehicles - with a government issued license plate - with 1 person?...again NONE. Wait we even allow 18 wheelers on - as long as they have 3 riders. Guess what, I will let you in on a secret - VA gets extra money from Hybrids. $15 goes to the Virginia State Police to support and enhance its High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) enforcement efforts Hate to break the news, but now with the new traffic ‘civil remedial fees’ that go into effect July 1, 2007, just for VA drivers we are all punished for driving VA roads and being a VA resident. And what is this money going toward - to help pay for road construction...what a joke. Read "New Virginia Code and Driving Fees" posting under General Slugging Comments. I believe there are bigger things to get frustrated about...HOT lanes, Civil Fees, and a $10 rise on your registration fees (in effect July 1st) - any excuse to explain how VA is going to pay for "road construction." And those affected - just VA drivers!! As though VA drivers are the only ones who drive VA roads. Start writing your legislature... |
