Driving Directions 

Description: The slug line is located just off Lorton Station Road at the Lorton VRE station. The line forms on the main road entering the Lorton VRE Station and commuter lot prior to the covered bus shelter. 

There is no dedicated slug-line at the Pentagon for return rides to this location. Most people who slug to the Pentagon or L'Enfant return to Lorton via bus or train.

Lorton VRE Expands Parking: On Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, Fairfax County elected officials along with Fairfax County Department of Transportation and Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Lorton VRE Station Park and Ride expansion project. The key features of the project include 150 additional parking spaces bringing the total number of spaces to 717; new pedestrian connections to the existing park and ride lot; and lighting improvements.

Parking: Excellent. Commuter parking lot with 717 free parking spaces.

Returning PM Slug Lines: Pentagon (co-located with the Tackett's Mill line but drivers for Lorton VRE are rather rare. Best bet is to return to Lorton via the train.)
